stage 2 problem fixed, lesson learned
for all those who tried helping me when ihad my stage 2 upgrade computer problem, well its solved. and i know i had stated many times that i had the connectors connected correctally, but guess what. I didn't. here's why. if you look down on the harnes wires about 6 inches or so from connectors, you see colored tape. one is white and one is orange. so after disconnecting computer then going to reinstall it, i went with white tape to white plug in on computer, and orange tape to orange plug in on computer. the colored tape was the first thing i seen, thats what i went by. WRONG!!! whatever idiots at dodge engineering who decided to put different colored tape on these harnessess probably figured some idiot like me would make this mistake. then they would get some extra money for repairing it. if they wanted to use the colored tape, then why didn't they put the orange colored tape with the orange connector and white colored tape with white one? cause they really dont want the home mechanic working on thier own cars maybe? maybe they want you to pay someone 80 dollars an hour to do the work. regardless it was a dumb mistake on my part because i always mark things when i take them on and off, but this time when i seen the colored tape i thought it was a no brainer. so moral of story is, never judge a harness by its cover. mark it before disconnecting. hope this story saves someone a headache. I know i can't possibly be the only one to make this mistake.
anyway good news is, it only cost me 100 dollars to solve problem and i didnt fry stage 2 computer or anything else. whew!! that was a close call.

Sorry to hear that. I must say that the tape mix up must be a goof. I know in my car, which I have swapped two PCMs into, it's been fine. Yours is the first case I have heard of where this has happened, and there are at least 100 Stage 2 owners, any way more Satge 1 owners, with no issue like this. Still sucks, though. Was the tape wrong on your S2 PCM or is your harness wrong? Meaning which PCM has the tape marks that match the harness marks correctly?
And lastly, how do you like S2?

I'll have to check mine out for that later. It does seem pretty f'd up for them to have it that way. Maybe it was a vendictive employee that got his walking papers earlier that day.
actually the tape colors didnt match the connector end colors. ecm were marked correctally. does the colored tape on your wiring harness match the colored connector ends? if so atleast i dont feel "that" stupid for the mistake knowing the factory worker actually initiated the mismatched colors.
