whats up with you srt guys
I went out to the track for the first time since I modified my Audi a4 from 200hp to about 370hp at the crank and I raced these srt neons that were out there and they ran dam good they were freakin fast and of course they beat me, I ran a 13.8 at 99mph and that srt ran 13.4 at 104mph, my question is to you guys what kind of modifications did this guy possibly have to run that kind of time in a quarter mile track???
my hats off to you guys these cars are amazing[sm=gears.gif]

Yup, the power to weight ratio for this car is very, very good (and you can make it even better by getting rid of the junk in the trunk). That's why it can hold it's own with heavier and more expensive "glamour" cars like Mustangs and 350Zs.......

The Stage one kit for the 03s contains larger injectors and a PCM to re-map the fuel curve, allows WOT shifting while holding boost, ups spark knock, etc.
The Stage one kit for the 04s and 05s simply contains the PCM. Dodge decided to just put the larger injectors in those model years from the factory.
BTW its nice to see some respect from another car owner. Especially an AWD owner. Thats actually a stronghold for our power-to-weight ratio, the fact that we are FWD lessens our weight compared to AWD cars... Although we still have to fight the woes of FWD, there are SRT-4s in the 10s on a regular basis and moving their way down to the 9s. I don't mean full out drag cars either. These cars are street driven.
The possibilities are endless. If I could get my car to hook, I'd be in the high to mid 12s with very minimal engine modifications done.

These cars are amazing. I have run a best of 13.68 @ 103.5 with a stock '04 and only a drop in K&N airfilter, iridium plugs and solid motormounts. The PCM and everything else are stock and OEM. These mods cost just over 100 bucks cause I got the mounts cheap. I have dynoed it in this condition and the dyno says I have 242 hp at the (wheels) and over 260 ft lbs torque. I figure 242 at the wheels is probably around 270 at the crank. This is just a filter with the stock intake box and plumbing and the plugs are stock gap. The car weighs about 3140 with me in it. The factory hp rating of 230 is low and these cars make the most of what hp they have. They seem to have fairly good traction with a lot of front weight bias as most who have been to the track a few times have been able to get under 2 second 60 foot times with good street tires. It's not magic, just a very underrated package.
I could put slicks and or drag radials on and cut up to 4 tenths off my time. A stage 1 pcm would then have me knocking on 12's. It's a great car. Easy to mod. Relatively cheap to mod. Easy to go fast and looks good doing it. Mopar or no car for me.
