Default Happy anniversary

It's been a year, folks. Yep, one year since I bought my car. In the past year, I have done the following mods:

***shorty antenna (effing thing is as limp as last nights noodles, though)

***Mopar BOV ( I now have a "phantom" boost leak. I don't know that I ACTUALLY have a boost leak, but since damn near everyone who has the blue plate has them, in my mind, I think that I have one, too)

***goldline springs ( I like them pretty well, although, I wish they were a little lower)

***maddog short shifter ( Now all I need is the maddog short throw clutch to go with it)

***gold wheels ( the one mod that nearly put me over the edge. buying wheels is like standing in line at the grocery store...no matter which line you get in, you will wish you were in the other)

***Needswing downpipe ( a BITCH of an install, but overall, pretty pleased with it)

***stage one ( hmmm,,,,,I guess it was a good value, but I really wanted stage 3, but my daughter had to have stage dental work)

Thoughts on the car:

I still like it, but I can't figure out why so many people rag on it. Not people in real life, but people you hear on the internet. so many people diss on it because of what it isn't, but I just tend to see it for what it is. I have never, not even once, have missed not having power rear windows. I know that there are cars out there that have better interiors, but I have never felt ours was bad. I am sure that having all wheel drive would be better, in some instances, but I really can't see the huge advantages of it.

People talk about how it can't corner well, but I've driven a lot of cars, and I really can't tell that it is significantly worse in cornering. Yeah, it is harder to get traction from a dig, but the thing is, other than the track, how important is it to be getting out of the hole in 1.7 seconds? Most any time I have ever floored the car, it has always been from a roll.

When I first started looking at the SRT-4's, the thing that attracted me to them was/were the value/bang for the buck. I still feel that way. I really think that a lot of people have a hang up with the car for just being seen as a neon. I don't know why so many people on the internet bash on them. I assume that it's jealousy, because if I hated a car, I wouldn't spend a second bashing it, because I wouldn't care enough to bash it. There seems to be this thing out there with people, and they want to convince us that, we, as owners, should hate our cars.

I have almost 20,000 miles on my car. (wordslayer does a lot of crusing and picking up chicks, ya know) (Okay,,,,,maybe ole word doesn't pick up chicks, but anyhow, I do a lot of driving) anyhow, in the time that I have had it, I have not had one squeak. I don't have one rattle. Other than blowing off a vacuume line, I've not had any problems with it....none.

And honestly, I really even like the looks of it. I bought it for the bang for the buck and I don't feel let down at all. Sure, it isn't perfect, but for the money, I've been more than pleased.

since I am older, I know that I will turn loose of this car at some point, but in all my years of driving, this really has been my favorite car. I've had plenty of nicer and more expensive cars, but this car has been special to me. I'm not sure why, and probably won't ever figure it out, either. I think, after most of us move on with this car and get something else, that we will look back on our time with this car and, only then, will we really appreciate it for what it was.

Yeah motor mounts will not let you forget the engine is running, that's for sure. I run the AGP's, but when I am not racing, I swap the top one out for the stocker and it smooths things out a bit. When I have the top one in, my wife says, I see you reinstalled the rumble pack in the steering wheel again. LOL. (that would be a reference to the vibrating add-on pack you could put on your old game boy for those who don't know) I thought that was cute. I have a very tolerant woman.

Strut Tower Bars (front and rear) will help with the cornering as well........
