Default ugh

Just as I wrote about how great my car has been doing, I jinxed it. My car has a blow off valve, mopar, and when I now floor it.....hmmmmmm let me try this again.

do you know how, when you have the mopar BOV how it does that Pffffish sound? well,,,,I was driving my car today and when I floor it, I hear the pffffish sound BEFORE I let off the gas. In other words, it is Pfffffishing while I am throttling it. It still Pffffishes when I shift, but it is pfffffishing way too soon.

thoughts on what might be wrong???

Did you use a gasket sealer like Permatex when you put it on?

Yes, I followed your advice when I had it installed, and I had them use the permatex something or other.

TPS?
I guess it could be the TPS, but the car runs fine, or so it seems, unless you are throttling on it, and it's only then that you get the extended pfffffshing sound. If running it regularly, it sounds like the normal blow off sound.

TPS, huh?

It sounds like a throttle position sensor problem to me. I was just wondering if you have had your TPS changed out yet? Like 40% of people with an SRT have this problem at some point with some of the symptoms being what you've described. Hope you get it figured out.

Its 100% the TPS wiring that broke loose on you. Theres a TSB on it, take it to the dealer and have them fix it. Very common problem. The wires are too short from the factory and need to be lengthened to prevent them from seperating themselves under engine torque.
