Default Mopar Short Throw Shifter

Another question for the experts in here. I'm considering a short throw shifter and would prefer to stay with Mopar parts if possible. I read somewhere the Mopar short throw requires a new shift boot, of course this adds to the cost. Supposedly the stock shift boot won't fit the short throw shifter. Anyone in here have any experience with this ? The car is a 2005 SRT-4 if that makes a difference. If not the Mopar short throw has anyone tried the Zzapp short throw that Howell automotive sells ?

Any advice I'd sure appreciate.

no problems at all with the mopar sts. took well under an hour to install, everything fit right together. the hardest part is getting the console off over the handbrake.

pull the ebreak as far up as you possibly can when trying to get the center console off, it makes it easier. still a pita but it helps.
