Wheel spacers??
i would only bother with wheel spacers if your getting wider rims that require them. perhaps only a quarter inch if you do. they are essentially just big washers, and so may crack. so be especially careful of 'bargain' spacers. i would to with eibach or h&r. if you have to extend your lugs this adds a lot of stress, having the weight of your vehicle outward on the lugs. its like hanging a 5lb weight on the end of a yardstick. hold it at the opposite end and its very difficult, choke up and hold right next to where the weight is tied and it is much easier. the same principle applies to your lugs. so extending them more than 1/4" adds a lot of stress to your suspension and 'pinches' the spacer itself at the top. like everything else it may be effective but might be a compromise in the end on the life of other parts. you just dont want to extend your lugs too far and have one snap or crack the spacer. hopefully this was helpful and not oo awfully confusing.
my advice would be to avoid putting on spacers unless there is a specific set of rims that you just must have.
ps, i dont doubt your intelligence but wheel spacers are not to be confused with wheel adapters for a specific bolt pattern.

I have spacers, and extended upgrade wheel studs, with open ended acorn spline lug nuts. My wheels do not fit SRT-4s at all. Some of the inside of the wheel had to be grinded out and refinished, and there sits a 5mm spacer, with extended wheel studs.
Don't do it for the stance, thats stupid. For the amount of bull**** I went through (I had to grind down some of the knuckle too for the new studs to clear and seat in the hub), its not worth it unless it absolutely has to be done.
And they are safe, if everything is done properly, and the wheels are TORQUED to specification (100ft-lbs)
