Making an SRT look like an SXT
How well do 3rd Gen bumpers fit right onto the SRT? I realize there may be an issue with the intercooler, however I have seen 2ndgen with SRT engine swap before using stock SE/SXT bumpers. Anyone running base model bumpers on their SRT???
im going for more sleeper look. removing the spoiler and want to get regular bumpers for it.

as of matter of fact yes, 03-05 SXT everything will bolt on like normal. theres a black sleeper here in miami smokin and foolin everyone, and even spraying, sick as ****, the way u know, third brakelight says "nos" lol
mine says "GOT BOOST?"
but yeah, didnt know if there would be any cutting needed around the intercooler. guess i shoulda just dropped a 2.4 in my sxt

You're talking second gen, theres quite a bit of fabbing needed.
1. The 2nd gens didn't have the same headlights, you'd need to get the 2000-2002 headlights in order for it to work properly (They had the same fenders though so thats not an issue).
2. The 2nd gens also didn't have the same taillights, so in order for the rear bumper to fit, you'd need 2nd gen tails, again the quarters and the trunk were the same.
3. You WILL have to cut some of whats behind the bumper to get the FMIC to fit
4. You will also have a HUGE gap between your hood and bumper, you think its bad now, just wait.
5. The trunklids are the same, but if you can't find one your color, you'll have to weld the holes
If you're talking about an SXT like your Blue one, thats a 2003-2005 model, and the bumpers will bolt right up to the headlights and taillights that you have now, you will however still have to cut some out from behind the bumper.
2nd gens didn't have SXTs, 3rd gens did.

^thanks for catching it... i WAS talking about putting the 03-05 bumpers on it. Thanks for the info though. i have heard about the hood gap... didnt know for which bumpers this was though.
maybe my next weekend ill have to take off my sxt bumper and testfit it to see what all will need to be cut out, see if its a little too much work for right now or not.
i can now afford to keep one of the cars off the road for a bit, seeing as there is one of me and 2 cars... i feel so alone

I agree with Moparman, don't understand why you would ever wanna make a $20,000 car look like a $12,000 car... unless you are just really into having a sleeper for racing on the street.
