im detailing under my hood this friday for our show
my friend was detailing under hid hood and screwed his car up pretty bad by getting water in the motor... any worry i should have with our cars ?

 

if i don't clean under my hood am i gonna be the only one with a "dirty" car? i washed it waxed it vaccuumed it, i s that gonna be enough????

that should be fine... i just have never done it.. in the 2 years ive had it [&:]

 

k just checkin, it was hard enough to find the time to wash and wax my poor car between baby crying, just wanted to make sur!!!!

You shouldn't have any problem spraying down the hood. Just dont keep the water on the engine during the entire time you are washing it. I typically get the hood wet, use a sponge to clean off the main parts, rinse and use a towel to absorb everything else. If you want to get really fancy, I've heard of people using q-tips to clean the edges. Too much IMO.

 

I give the engine compartment a general wipe down everytime I pop the hood to check the fluids/OCC. Light cleaning on a regular basis saves you time in the long run..........

Simple Green and compressed air FTW!!!

Be careful though, if you aren't familiar with cleaning engines it will get where you don't want it to....

 

Amen to that, found that out when I flooded out my distributor on my '41 Olds!!!!!!!
