Like what we see on Cops in those crazy car chases where people run after they destroy their car??? LOL, I love watching that show. People do the funniest things.[sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]

That's a pretty accurate show, except that the cops on TV often act nicer than they would if the TV cameras weren't there....makes for good PR, though....

I hate chasing suspects in the dark. On COPS they have the advantage of the big video camera light, in reality it's dark and dangerous....time to call in Eagle 1 (our chopper).

I've been doing it for 4 years now. I started off as a dispatcher, went to San Antonio College (SAC) to get my Texas Peace Officer's Certification during my off duty time.
The area I work is mostly an older, historic part of the city and many of the people are senior citizens.....they call with all sorts of problems, but they appreciate us, as well. I don't write too many tickets because I enjoy my day(s) off and hate going to court.
The biggest hassle is staying current in your training, Texas requires you take a certain number of hours each year to stay current on certain topics, like racial profiling. Some PDs let you off to do that with no problems, others take it out of your vacation/sick days....[:@]
