Are you running the stock air box? I would sent it back and get a long CAI, AEM or AGP.

The whole idea is to get cooler air into the engine, a short intake only sucks in hot air which does little for performance. A CAI will help get cooler outside air which is more dense ( meaning more oxygen) which makes the gasoline mixture burn better giving you more power........

..........which then goes through a hot as hell turbo. I would like to see the "gains" from these cai. Is the air really cooler coming out of the turbo?

I would have to agree. Isn't that what the intercooler is for? I would also like to see these gains....

Go to modernperformance.com, they have several dyno charts on different CAI's. short rams, etc..........

The air, whether warm or cool, is going to spend the same amount of time in the turbo. This means that cooler air going into the turbo = cooler air coming out of the turbo. The difference in temperature may not be extreme, but small variations can cause somewhat significant changes in engine performance.

.......in the winter/fall when it is very cold, the turbo does not spool up as much boost, why, because the air is colder. In the hot days of summer the boost hits higher psi. Does this work the same with the cai, does the computer know that the air is denser? I also heard that on stock, or close to stock cars the stock box is more than adequate.
