OK..maybe not my finest mod...
I actually just bought those same taillights for my blue neon, I'm in the process of putting them on. Did you silicone around the edge like the little thing that came with it says to do, or did you skip it. Just wondering. I have the clear 3rd brakelight on right now and it looks great, just have to buy some silicone before I finish it up
The arrived today but I didn't have silicone. I plan on sealing them, but wanted to see how they looked. You know, like a little kid that cant wait?
The 3rd clear does match the reverse lights pretty good. Good luck!

I wasn't too wild about those taillights when I had check out the pics at Modern, but that was not on the car. They look pretty good on the car.[sm=smiley20.gif]
Here's a close-up. The Mopar directions made no mention of silicone.

The gap on the Mopars is virtually the same as the stock lights....I can slip a paper towel in there to draw out the rebel water drops, but that's it. Same exercise I went thru with the stock lamps......yes I'm picky about my car!!!![sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
Dusty - Thanks for the close up shot. They look good. I played around with mine a little today and was able to close the gap a gap some. The silicone mentioned was for the light housing, not for the seal to the body in case you were wondering.
lrl1990 - I siliconed mine up and readjusted today. I also trimmed some of the excess chrome trim inside the gap that you can see in my first close up shot and painted it black. Now the gap is smaller and no chrome can be seen through the gap.
Here's a tip that seemed to work for me: Tighten the top plastic nut down real good first, then the others. This seems to pull the top of the housing in toward the car.
I hope the pictures I've been posting aren't too big.

I have the same lights, I have a little bit more of a gap than the stock ones, but it is not bad. Mine did not leak last night, I did not silicone them like it suggested, I couldn't wait to get them in car just you like Wheat! I also put the clear 3rd brake light in. Damn my dirty shiny trunk, you can almost see me! I was also able to tighten the lights down more today since that gasket got compressed some more.

Thanks. I had wondered what the silicone was for, good to see it wasn't for the light/body clearence!
Glad to hear you closed the gap some. Like I said before, try the nuts again in a few days or a week and see if that helps....
Nice to have a car "different" from the rest, right?[sm=smiley20.gif]

I knew you were wondering where that silicone was going.
Different, yes...but I won't be selling my OEM's anytime soon. They may find their way back on the car.
