Default Exhaust Cutout

im sure it would vary with your setup, but how much of a difference would this really make??? or would i be better off going with a 3" catback? just thought i could keep it stock sounding with the factory exhaust and only open it up when running.

it lets you run your stock exhaust for every day driving, but you can hit the toggle switch and it will let it flow directly out the 3" downpipe.

It should make a very nice difference, I know my Roadrunner on just headers was better than it is with a full 3" mandrel bent dual exhaust all the way back. You just cannot beat open headers or pipe when it comes to power, that's why all full race cars run straight out.

This d/p (pricier) and NeedsWings (more affordable) are excellent mods for the SRT-4. Especially for those who wish to keep their stock exhaust and want the flow of a cut out when racing. Difference between these two units is the Quicktime is not available w/out the electric cut out while the Needswings is available w/ a manual cut out. However, the QT d/p does offer a stronger, more durable electricl cutout.

what is the otherby needswinds you speak of? is it a cable used to switch it or is it truly climb under the car manual? i guess i would reduce backpressure but im just wondering if its worth it for a pretty much stock car.

Needswings is a company that develops their own brand of quality cut-out downpipes. They offere two options for cut out itself. Manual which is removed via butterfly nuts & electrical via a Mccord power plate. Stock schmock, you own a turbo car. If you need more info & pics, check out their website. We've been dealing with them for a while now & they alway provide us with great service.

I know someone who has the cut out the electric one I am not sure which brand....but he opens it with a switch its on a 05 SRT4 and personally I wouldn't do it he said that it realldoesn't make that big of a difference and it also makes the car sound like "crap" it sounds like a diesel truck as far as the idling sound goes....and he said I haven't personally seen it but when he floors the throttle and shifts that it shoots flames out the cut out....I am not sure how true that is or what would cause that....just my 2 cents....not worth very much

Coming from someone who was claiming to have Tone Ring problems and owns a stg 3 I would have expected much more from you. It sounds like "crap" because there is NO restrictions and running a OPEN downpipe. Is this your first turbo car or do you know nothing of them? It shoots flames because you have...read after me.. NO restrictions!
