SRT 4 Wrecked!
So my SRT 4 is officially thrashed. Wrecked with a Toyota Highlander. She turned left in front of me, I was at about 30 mph, luckily I was able to hit the brakes before I hit, head on into her driver and passenger doors. Car is totaled (it better be) definite frame damage, the engine is at a substantial angle, intercooler crushed, radiator busted, even my exhaust tips are pushed out from the body kit about an inch. Airbags deployed.
Luckily (if there is any to be found), no one was hurt, The cops were writing her a ticket for the left hand turn (not my fault).
I am 28, no accidents ever, haven't had a ticket in over 7 years. 36,000 miles on the SRT, most of them in Southern California, still at 70% of the original brakes, second set of summer tires, 1st set of snows, never any major problems with the car. And I end up wrecking with a 16 year old who has had her licsense for all of a few weeks. Her driving school instructor actually stopped and lit some flares for us. Hardcore Irony.
After wrecking in this car at around 30 mph, I'm thankful that I never wrecked at 140 or 120. It's amazing what getting an airbag in the face will make you think about.
Next bet is probably a Subaru Impreza or WRX Impreza. If I can get my hands on an STI Limited, I will go for it. Much more suitable for the foul Winter weather here in North Idaho.
Hopefully I got the pics attached right!

Damn that sucks man! Know how you feel! Mine was totaled thanks to another driver aswell.
It seems like everytime I check forums there's another SRT-4 totaled. It would be interesting to see how many are left alive at this point!

I know, It doesn't look totaled.. Mine looked a bit worse and mine was fixed with no problem. I was doing about 60-70 hit a 10-15 mph car that jumped in front of my with no lights on a dark night.. ( good to hear no one got hurt )
i think your frame will be the determining factor. is your roof or its supports buckled? it dosent 'look' totalled although this can be decieving. but if the frame is bent i would argue like hell! i recall someone using the analogy of a paperclip: bend it out of shape and then try to bend it back. you can get it close but once metal is bent, even IF you can get it back to its origional shape, it's strength is compromised.
so how many of you idiots picked up a paper clip and tried this?
I did. *boredom

9 out of 10 times the frame rail is not actually straightened, rather, cut out and replaced. As far as straightening goes, they use computer guided lasers for measurements..........and I am personally still not convinced. The paperclip may look straight, but the integrity of the metal is compromised. But like I said, 8 out of 10 times they replace.....I mean 9 out of 10
