Default axles?

Ok heres my ? Should I buy factory axles or upgrade?

Background on my car just last weekend i was able to run a 13.58 at 106mph on street tires not bad at all and was able to drive home after a fun day of racing no broken axles!

Problem! evidently I didn't get the memo that u cant make a fast U turn because thats what i was doing or tried to do when my axle snapped! I guess the limited slip and all that torque will do that to ya.[:@]

so should i just go factory and take it easy on the U turns or spend the $$$$ for the upgrades? Id like to eventually get into the low 13s or high 12s my parnents srt8 charger went 12.98 i gotta show them my 4 banger can keep up!

What do you think?

rule of thumb:

if something beaks, replace it with an upgraded part

its an exuse to buy a performance part (whatever it may be)

Yea I know thats a good rule of thumb but I thought the factory axles were strong enough to handle it? the upgrade is 750 bux that I could use on something else. believe me if i had unlimited funds id do it in a second! But...... well we all know what these cars do to us!

So basicly is it going to be cost effective? If i take it easy on U turns how many factory axles am i going to break? If I upgrade to the stronger axles they will be strong but then what will break..... The tranny? ouch

that rule of thumb should NOT be used with axles. dss axles are pos's. stick with the stock, they're more than adequite and much cheapter to replace.

I have to agree with PSI on this one, you can replace a lot of stock axles for the price of those 2 Super DSS axles. Take the money you just saved listening to PSI and buy some good performance parts for the rest of the car.

also what do you think about maybe getting it fixed under warrenty? Im sure it will be a big fight but hey I don't think it should have broke on the street! Its only got 12,000 miles on it and i really was just making a U turn not trying to show off at all and good thing cuz its imbarising plus having to push man it sux.

Hell yeah, if the car is under warranty take it back to the dealer. Now you have more money again to buy parts........

yes they are. every single person that i know of that has gotten them has broken them. the most common problem is shearing the splines. and dss sucks as far as customer service goes, they apparently just like to yell at you and tell you that you're an idiot and must have done something to purposely brake them before they hang up on you. stock ftw.
