problem mainly lies when you start upgrading to a larger turbo. the 90 degree joint in the intake by the turbo is made a a fairly thin rubber piece. the issue is that this rubber could potentialy suck shut, choking out your motor and causing a fuel cutout effect at around 5200 RPM WOT. Is it really a problem? only way would be to stick it on the dyno and see. the solution? a stronger joint or ribbing of some type. not a big deal if your running the stock turbo. and if your running a larger turbo you might as well run larger than 2.5 inch intake anyhow.
That's just one issue that's not even the major. The bigger problem people were having with this intake was the grommet holding the IAT sensor. These intakes were sucking them right into the turbo, destroying the turbo fins.
