Im thinkin about buyin a bone stock 05 srt4. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I should look for on this car besides just the little things. Also if anyone can give me some little tips on how to maintain the life of these cars taht would be good also. I know theres prolly little things ppl do to keep these cars running well. So any help would be good.... THANKS..
FIRST THING, get yourself an oil catch can. Info on how to make one and how to hook it up can be found at the top of this section. You may want to consider upgrading the stock plugs and wires as well. Other than that, everything else is for bling or for performance/handling improvements......

Wow, I really appreciate that.. would the oil stay in the IC or does it go away eventually? If it stays how can I get it out if theres a way, what is this really doing for maintance of the car ?.. Also is there anything else that you can think of that would be good for maintance wise on a stock srt4?
If your car has more than a few thousand miles on it, it's probably a good idea to take the IC off and clean it out. The oil film that forms on the inside of the intercooler prevents effective cooling of the air which in turn lowers your performance. While you're under there, make sure all your hose clamps are tight to prevent boost leaks.
That's really the only common problem that DCX "overlooked" on the car. Just change the oil every 3 months/3,000 miles with full syn oil and change the tranny fluid around 10K or so (use the special Mopar additive as well).

It's not like rebuilding your tranny, but it takes a little time. Nothing really big to worry about other than getting a place to get under the car.........Several people here have done it.
