Gauges?????????
I just got new srt autometer gauges from a buddy of mine. And i bought them because she f***** told me he was going to wire them up for on my car. So he got too it and half way into the job he calls me and tells me dude its too hard just take it to a speed shop. so now im look to see if anyone here mite know of any speed shop around my area. That will do a good job, by the way i live in the (714) area code Anahiem CA. so if anyone can plz give me some help with that.
I've got gauges I bought also that I'm not sure I'm even going to hook up now. Depending on what gauges you have you may do better IMHO to buy the AeroForce Technology Pro gauge that reads almost everything you could want except oil pressure. I think I'm going to have some gauges for sale on ebay soon.

i take it you don't know much about wiring. i did all my own wiring on a Greddy timer, oil pressure, a/f, and an Autometer D-PIC. if you tell me what gauges you have i might be able to help you out since it really isn't that difficult. i just don't like spending money for someone else to do what i can for free, but it is a lot easier that way
YOU SURE ITS NOT THAT HARD BC I HAD A DUBMASS WHO SAID HE KNEW HIS STUFF AND DID NOTHING. AND YEA WIREING IN THIS CAR I DONT WANNA MESS WITH. BUT YEA I HAVE THE A/F GAUGE, OIL P. GAUGE, AND VOLTS METER GAUGE. IF YOU CAN GIVE ME A HAND ON HOW I CAN WIRE IT MYSELF LET ME KNOW. AFTER THAT I'LL GO FROM THERE AND I'LL SEE IF I WILL GIVE IT THE TRY AND DO IT MYSELF. BC LIKE YOU I DONT WANNA SPEND OVER $200 WHEN ITS A DO IT YOUR SELF TYPE OF JOB YOU KNOW.
Are your gauges mechanical or electric? AutoMeters website has free dowloadable installation instruction manuals for each gauge type they have. The volt gauge is the easiest, all you do is put the ground wire under any bolt that is in metal and not plastic and you can put the positive wire in most any fuse in the fuse box. The A/F gauge is electric so it's just a matter of mounting the probe in the exhaust and connecting the wires and if the oil gauge is electric then you just install the sending unit in the block or head in an oil passage and connect the wire from the gauge to it.
Since they're mechanical you should replace the plastic/rubber hoses with metal and/or use an underhood sending unit to relay the info from under the hood to the gauge, because if the line leaks or breaks inside the car you'll have oil everywhere inside quick. The A/F ratio gauge might be listed as mechanical, but realistically they are electric since they use an electric probe to read the temps and don't pipe the exhaust gases through a hose/pipe into the interior to hook straight to the gauge like the oil pressure and water temp gauges do.
Even though it sounds simple it is very time consuming and mounting/installing the probes, both the A/F and oil, can be very difficult. The oil is somewhat easier since you can find the proper block or head plug to remove to install the oil pressure tubing. The A/F probe requires cutting a hole in the exhaust and welding in a threaded bung into it to install the probe. Good luck!

Wow now its starting to sound a little harder then last time. But i was told that i wouldnt have to run any hose into my interior like you said. So maybe im guessing it is a electric gauge. I have the autometer SRT-4 gauges i dont know if you have seen them but yea that what i have.
The only difference between the AutoMeter SRT gauges and the regular AutoMeter Pro Comp Ultra Lite gauges is the fact it says SRT on it, other than that they are the same gauge. If the oil gauge has no tubing and has a sending unit like mine pictured below (mine has a brass adapter on the bottom which doesn't come with it in this size, it was on my Neon R/T and I still need to put it in my SRT-4), then it's electric.

Yea my sending unit is just like yours so do you think i can do it myself? i know with just a few pointer i shouldnt have a problem. But do you mite know around how much a shop would charge for a job like this?
