occ & bov ???
i have a stock 04 srt. im about to put an occ on it as well as a bov. the only occ's that i can find are at least 115$ her in AL. anyone know where a cheaper product is. also i need to know which bov's will bolt directly to my stock turbo and can someone show me where to get step by step instructions. kinda turbo illiterate. i do appreciate it guys and look forward to learning about these cars with yall
well, you could build your own occ. i believe there is a stick up top on this. however i would prefer to just buy one. you can get an NRG OCC for about $90, pretty sure its what i paid for mine. you wont have to empty it near as often and tis pretty durable.
you can get the mopar BOV conversion for about 60 bucks. its a pain to get that third bolt! if you plan any other mods such as CAI, i would get it all at once since the the bov will be easiest to get to with lots of stuff removed (such as air intake and battery tray). but if you have skinny enough hands and fingers maybe you can get to it easier. as for an aftermarket BOV you have 2 options: one that will fit where the factory unit sits or second, you get a blockoff plate for the factory and mount elsewhere (such as getting hardpipes with a place to mount the bov.
btw, how many miles have you run w/o the occ?

Right, I was just gone say what flamingpinhead said. The latter part on getting hot and cold pipes is the way I would go but it's way more expensive. I like the HKS SSQ BOV and it's requires me to have hot and cold pipes. I'm kinda worried about what was said above cause I haven't ordered a OCC yet and I have about 7,000 miles on my car. [&:] I dont even have the HKS yet just something in my plans. But if you want to spend less, Mopar BOV and the do it yourself OCC is the way to go.
36k miles. yeah i know, pretty bad huh? i just now started reading up on all this. the pics that are posted on the occ install are not on a srt model neon. where he placed the occ i have the A/C thing. so i were to get the hks ss bov then would i need the blocker plate for my factory one. sorry, but i really know absolutely nothing about turbos, but am really starting to get very interested...my girls gonna be pi**ed
yeah, its a quick moneypit once you start modding... and its addicting. you can mount the occ over on the passanger side of the engine, or if you have aCAI you can easily mount it around the battery tray.
the one from the PVC to the Intake manifold (yellow) is really the only one to be concerned with. the other one is easily bypassed by placing a breather on the crankcase vent. it just looks pretty. i took the 2nd one off a couple weeks ago when i converted to short ram intake for the winter.

btw, i know my images says 'throttle body', but its really the intake mainfold it actually plugs into.

and lastly, a rough sketch of how the occ works:

please forgive my stupidity! can someone breakdown PVC. not 100% sure what we're talking about here. permission granted to make as much fun as necessary! guys i really do appreciate all your replies especially as quick as you have answered. i have soooo many ?'s about this stuff and really need to talk to someone that has a little bit of patience. if anyone is knowledgable and patient enough to give me some one-on-one consultation i would be much abliged.
the pvc the valve on the top passanger side. if you follow that factory line in yellow, it comes to the pvc where the hose connects. the pvc is, correct me if im wrong, a check valve. problem is when the turbo is spooling and it pressurizes the system, this line from the pvc to the manifold is under pressure as well. so oil and gook blows through it, into the TB, intake manifold and intercooler get crap flowing into them

Ask away man, dont worry about it. That's how u learn and prevent yourself from destroying your investment. It's a really good car but you gotta know it works and what's good for it. Anyway I'm still myself learning and I have a lot to go since this is my first turbo car also. Only thing I have done was a BOV and come to find out it was a crappy one (Turbonetics) [:'(] That one was almost $350 itself. DOH! [:@] Better safe than sorry but also use the search to see if you can find anything.
yeah, search owns a lot of folks out there. i have only been learning about turbo motors for about a year now, well motors in general that is. this forum has been an encyclopedia of knowlege for both my dodges.
im new to forums as well so not sure if i should post as another topic but i was also curious about lowering the car. i know on hondas coilovers or springs will work with the factory struts, does this hold true to the srt's as well. i would much rather go for the 150$ springs as oppose to the 1400$ coilovers.
