car trouble
It probably wont be until monday or tuesday, but i will let everyone know. I hope they are at least right on what part needs to be replaced, because I live 25 miles away. I do work in the town the dealership is at, but as of tuesday we get 2 weeks off for christmas, so I wont be making the trip here after that, or at least I dont plan too. Once they finish replacing the wastegate I am going to drive it and if I hear the slightest sound, it is going right back and staying until complete.
it sounds like a bad wga, i'm not saying it's not. but there's no bearing in the wga. it works off a spring and the spring probably went. it's not unheard of. just keep it out of boost until you get it replaced or you can do some damage. if the spring is busted then the wga isn't controlling boost properly, and depending on how it managed to break itself you could either be seeing very low or very high boost levels, you didn't say which one you are seeing.
and if it's broken, might as well upgrade!

i thought about the upgrade, but since factory is doing it for free, i probably wont. do you think they would let me pay a difference? i appreciate everyones input and help, as i dont know much about the car. as for boost levels, i dont know. i have been driving as good as possible since i heard the noise and pretty much did keep it out of boost since then. if i had to guess on the boost, i would say it is low, because a few days before the noise it was lower than usual.
