Hey everyone just wondering your opinions. my buddy and I raced the other night from a 30 mph roll and I pulled on him all the way to the end of 4th and then let off. I got him by atleast 1 to 2 cars. He has a 2002 Z28 convertable. Do you think it was just because he is not that good of a driver? or should I be able to beat them from a rolling start. I only have a cai and he is stock.

if he can drive he'll pull on you from a dig...but once you hit 3rd its bye bye for him.....remember mustangs, camaros, gtos and cobras **** on themselves when they see us...as long as they are not blown they're no match for us....im talkin about stock srt4s...don't even get me started on a modded one

 

our only concern is from a dig, given the traction issues we suffer. however, we are threatenedand many times beaten by the LS1, CSVT, and all the modded rides out there. then again we have mods of our own, which is where it gets fun (then youll never know till you run em)

 

my terminology is a little off....isnt a "dig" a 5-10mph rollin start?

 

well...the whole dig issue can be fixed with $300.Buy some solid motormounts and drag radials...with that you'll get ZERO wheel hop...it's been proven.LS1s are ******.A friend of mine had a 5.7 GTO...I raced him from a dig and pulled 3 cars on him by third gear.Oh his car was automatic...so he couldnt make up any excuses, u know missing gears or all that, and his traction his a whoooole lot better than mine form a dig.And the new 6.0s from a roll try to keep up, I managed to pull half a car on one of them, by 4th gear i was 1 car in front...gotta love these skittles

 

A "dig" is a race starting from a dead stop.

 

lt1's are slow compared to the aluminum ls1's .he was an auto i am thinking and let the car shift for him. been on both ends of the camaro races.

 

I will race him from a dig and let you know. he didn't make any excuses or anything. He really likes my car and said if he would of known they were that fast he would have bought one.

 

For starters, an auto LS1 is going to be beat by an SRT-4 every time.......they're just slow..... a good driver might be able to get you at launch....but your going to win....

Secondly, a driver who knows what he is doing in an LS1 stickcan beat an SRT-4......they're roughly a mid 13 second car....

Third, you raced a convertible......which is the heaviest coupe you can race.....you were going to win regardless...
