above the intercooler....
Yes it is Styrafoam. It covers the front bumper bar just above the lower opening. It also give a little bit of padding behind the front fascia. Its not a bad idea... it will give more air flow thru the rad.
It may give more air flow, but it will also reduce your chances of surviving a front end collision and it may also be illegal to do as well. I know that it has to be removed to install most larger aftermarket intercoolers. I would love to remove it from mine just for appearance, but as I mentioned it is most likely illegal as well as severely compromising the cars ability to protect you in the event of an accident.

You can leave the crossbar alone, just remove the foam that blocks the rad above the FMIC.... Your still safe.. 1/2 a pound of foam will not kill you... ( I hope ) Thats why I like the Perrin FMIC, cause it comes with a new bumper support, as all the rest of the aftermarket FMIC's don't.
Isn't the bumper just about the same size as the foam? Most all of the actual bumpers that I have seen on other cars are fairly sizeable, being at least half the size of the foam.
You can upload them within your post. In the pop-up box that you type in your post, it has "Click here to upload!" right below the box that your message goes in. You can also click on the box next to it to have a thumbnail of the picture in your post as well. After you click on the "Click here to upload!", click on one of the "Browse" buttons that is in the pop-up box and search for it on your computer. Once you find the picture click on it and then click the "Open" button and that box will close. Then there will be the box with the "Browse" buttons again, but with the one line used. Click on the "OK" button and it will upload, when it's done it will let you know and then click on that "OK" button and then finish your post.

You have to take off the front end of your car. But its not hard to do at all. I can take the front end off in less than 10 mins.
5 screws on the rad support.
8 or 9 screws holding the bottom
2 screws in each wheel well
3 screws under the wheel well to the fender.
Wala' and I must say without the front end.. its fugly looking.
Forgot to get photos from other puter to post.
