what is the normal for vac at idle. my car has a ets cai, forge bov, greddy occ and an apexi turbo timer. not much but the vac is at 18 the line before the 20 is that good or okay for my car 05 srt-4.

That's fine. You might see as much as -22 on deceleration in gear. What is also important is making sure it reads 0 when the engine is off. These gauges break often and that is one indicator.

sounds good to me. dont forget your vac may vary depending if your heater is on or not. heating systems run on vacuum lines. but my 05 normally is around 18-20
so id say ur fine

what if your car is pulling -28 vac while in gear (coasting)? i guess that proves there is a leak huh? anyone want a srt?!? she may not be running up to par but shes a bueat!!!

Mine hits numbers like -25 on decel also. It's at -20 to -22 at idle since I put an accurate gauge in it. The old Mopar gauge did read -18 at idle. The car doesn't have any boost leaks.

Can you put a aftermarket gauge in the stock location and use the stock connections. what would be a more accurate gauge to use?

I installed this Defi boost gauge in the stock spot. It does involve hooking up 3 wires and finding a good ground but I believe it's more accurate than the old Mopar gauge and better looking also. I bought it from the great people at,
