one month later
finally after a month, my car is back to normal. it turned out to be the boost gauge making the noise i was hear near the firewall. i knew the gauge was messed up by the readings, but i would have never guessed it would have caused such a grinding noise. even though it tooka month, i got a new wastegate, new vac lines, and all of my connections tightened. for those of you that gave your input, thanks. it helped me and the mechanic out a lot.
i have to say, it feels great to have my car back. i am sure there were boost leaks because the boost moves up a lot quicker than i remember and it seems to hold a lot better at higher numbers. thanks again everyone, i am sure this wont be the last time i need help. i plan on keeping this car for a long time. plus i plan on buying the tear down manual from the dealership soon, so if i can in return help anyone else out, let me know.
i would greatly appreciate it. you can email me at jc61_bruno@yahoo.com
thank you very much for everything. i plan on making myself get to know my car better.

I've got a version of that PDF file (in 3 or 4 parts)that I "borrowed" off of the other SRT forum. I can send it, but it will take awhile, since I have dial up internet service........
