Default Fog Light Question

How many poeple can turn on their fog lights without having their head lights on?

I see pics of '04s and that is what mine is and I have to have my headlights on inorder to turn on my foglights. Just wondering if anybody elses SRT is like that?

i think that's how it's supposed to be. my sxt's the same way, and my manual says the headlights have to be on for the foglights to be on. except, for some silly reason, when the high beams are on, then the foglights just turn off. it's normal, though, according to the manual

Mine is the same way and I too have noticed some with their fog lights on without the headlights on. In fact the SRT-4 on Tuner Transformations was that way, it's fog lights were on without the headlights.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

I can't remember where, but I saw a website that showed how to rewire the lights for this purpose. Looked like a big headache.

Yep, that's the way it's supposed to work, headlights first, then foglights. It's also one of the gillion Texas laws for motor vehicles....

I know in some states it is a law that you cannot use fog/driving lights and high beams at the same time.

There is a mod to bypass that. There is a lot of wiring involved, and you'll also need to either modify or replace the switch on the steering column.

If anyone is really interested, let me know I'll find a link.

Yeah, my buddy with the SRT-4 has his fogs on an independent switch. Looks damn good when he's rocking the parking lights and the fogs. Now that I think about it, I have seen another SRT-4 with this done as well. People are doing it....

*Fog light mod link*
Note:"The same multi function switch is available as a part number for the Jeep Liberty, which already has that grey ring mod done. So basically, you would just bolt that in, and do your re-wiring."

Thanks for the link Wheat! I was wondering how to do that, I'll probably hook mine up. Should look sweet considering I have all white lights up front except for my headlights. I'm gonna try and wire that up this weekend.
