Default Spec V vs SRT-4

My rents bought me 2004 Sentra Spec V for graduation, i dont really like Nissans, i dont mind em but id rather have something else, well they said if i wanted to, i could give my car to my brother and they would co sign a loan for something else, i was looking into a 2003 or 2004 SRT-4(black) and i was wondering what are some good and bads of the car? There is a lot more aftermarket parts than there were for the sentra which is always a plus, but i want something that is a good trustworthy daily driver

the 2.4 liter is an extremely reliable motor that has had very few problems during its life. The turbo 2.4 has only been out a couple of years, and as far as I know, there have not been any recalls or any problems with it... My theory has always worked well for me, if you treat your SRT right, it will treat you right. Follow the break in schedual, and you should not ever have any major problems with it...

how much horsepower can the stock internals hold, i heard the motor is pretty much bullet proof, plus from what ive been seeing on cars ive been looking at it, it looks the neon accepts aftermarket parts real good

The powertrain has a 7 yr./70,000 mile warranty, so it had better be good or DCX is gonna be losing money on repairs. The 2.4L turbo has been around longer than most people realize, it has been used in turbo Stratus' for years in Mexico (the turbo Stratus is only available in Mexico, it is not available here in the US). So it has been well tested in actual daily driven use. The only known problem is turbo heat possibly frying the #3 spark plug wire after a few thousand miles. That's about it. If you can, get the 2004 as it has a limited slip differential and the larger fuel injectors from the Stage 1 upgrade.

First Of All Get A Dodge!

tHE SRT-4'S 2.4 L engine is extremly fast and the brakes are fantastic, its a 4 door so you can fit 2 more people, it also looks aewsome with the aggressive hoodscoop and dual exhaust, its price is amazing for what you get and it beats the competition, for example: the srt-4 beats the nissan 350z which is 350 horsepower and costs ALOT more. Trust me i have been in the srt-4 and its AEWSOME.

Get rid of that little nissan!!!!!! From: Dodge Devil

The engine and tranny can handle 300 hp worth of mods with easy, probably even a little more. Some people have reported axle breakage way beyond 300 hp, but if you're going to get that serious, there are aftermarket axles available as well. It's the best value in a "pocket rocket" on the market today.
