my car is throwin a P0340 code- camshaft position circuit ....WTF do i do..where is this sensor? i went to auto zone and they said that it was the #1 snesor goin to the # spark opposite of the # 2 or some crazy stuff like that....anyone help me?

 

It is located in the dist.Thats all i could find bro.

 

appreciate it ......ill do some wiggling. it was throwin it last night, and when i was in the throttle my car would miss and bogg and sound horrible...but this morning it didnt throw anything and drove fine....i didnt even check to see if the code was still there this morning...im baffled!

 

P0340-CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT just called the dealer and told them that i was throwin this code and asked what it was i needed to fix the problem...exact response "well you would have to bring it in and let us diagnose it for 80$ then we'll go from there".....A**HOLES!!!!!!!!! I HATE DEALERSHIPS!!!! anyway, sorry i needed to vent a little! so this being the code does this mean i need the sensor, or do i just have a lose wire...anyone had this problem b4?

 

it might be abad wireor sensor...kinda hard to tell.To early too....wait a little bit more 'till people start waking up

 

hey dude..get on the maintenance manual thread...go to section 8W-30-26. theres a diagram of the CPS...see if you cant help me figure this **** out..if you can call me at work..ill PM you the # (tryin to save some minutes[im about to go over}) that is if you can call me from your work where its free.

 

where the F is the powertrain control module?

The PCM, I would imagine is the ECU, which is located in the left front around the headlight. It's your computer, PCM, ECU, the words are used interchangeably usually. Do you have a Stage computer ?

 

sorry i had to teach a class....my students need me too

reset the ecu and see if it pops up again. that code is sometimes thrown as a brain fart.
