my car has been idling horribly lately. i took it to my shop and we had a look at the engine. as soon as he took a look under the hood. my car just started to bog down very low til it almost shut off! then it seemed like it tried to keep itself from stalling and went up to about 1500 rpms for a second then bogged down! we checked the computer and he told me there were codes saying i was pushing too much boost and hada misfire in cylinder 1. well i just put knew wires in it and i've been running 16 psi since i put the waste gate on. no boostleaks or anything like that. could it be bad injectors? i need help guys and gals! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!

What codes is the car setting ?

 

You might of fouled out a plug. Check your plugs!!!

 

Check and make sure nothings clogged. This happened with my other car because of a clogged air intake. Plugs to as said above are a good place to look also.

 

i just replaced the plugs. i cleaned my intake out a week or so ago. I can't tell you the codes right now but the description was a misfire in cylinder 1 and overboost. i'm putting my stock wga on and taking it to the dealer. is there anyway they will know i had an aftermarket wga on it if i put the stock one on and put knew plugs in it?

 

why are you taking it to the dealer? that's a waste.

overboost - get s1 and this will go away. you're pushing more boost than stock, and 05's ecu suck with mods. get a staged ecu and that problem will go away.

misfure - most common cause iseither sparkplugs/wires or a fouled injector. you said you changed your plugs, change your wires and throw in some injector cleaner.

sounds also like your tps wiring is shot.

 

i have been meaning to ask ya'll about injector cleaner....i, myself have never ran any, so i kinda need an idea of what is the best kind to use. ive never changed my plugs/wires cause all the srt owners around here have had trouble with their cars as soon as they did it, so they told me if i didnt absolutely need to then not to mess with it. anyway, what is the best kind of cleaner that ya'll use........and as far as the dealer bein able to know about your wastegate....they shouldnt have any idea about it as long as the heat shield and everything else is back in factory order. theyre prob. not gonna know anything about the car either, but i guess if its free its worth a shot. you may, however, have a problem with having the aftermarket IC,pipes, BOV, and whatever else you said you had. dealers will try anything to get out of fixin your car for the free, so if i were you i would for sure put it back completely stock B4 you send it up there, and just ship me you pipes so i can fix my boost leak!

 

LOL!! funny guy right there! well, i changed my wires first thing so maybe it is my tps wiring.my heatshield has been cut to fit my agp wga. but i have something for that if they try to tell me some crap. Hopefully i don't have to pay oodles of money!! this wouldn't be caused by the waste gate could it? i've been pushing 16 psi since i put the wastegate in. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!

 

i dont have a wastegate on my car, not am i that knowledgable about them, but from what i DO understand i dont think that a wastegate would cause your car affect the idlin of the car. but like i said i dont know that much about them

 

IF it's a P0301 code, then it's either bad injector, bad wire, bad plug or even a bad coil.In all likeley hood, if it is running liek you said at idle, it's an injector issue. The PCM will keep making adjustments to the injectors to get the optimal 14.7 AFR at idle range and so the bad injector is either wide open or clogged therefore creating a situation in the fuel ratios causing idle issues.
