I have a Yellow 2003 SRT4 and i blew the motor up. So i bought a complete front clip from a 2005 srt with 3500 miles on it engine tranny and harness. I used the engine harness from the 2005 because it was clean and no modifications on it. I put the engine in and everything seems to be all good. No engine codes. But, i have a problem that when i try steping into it, it pickups and goes until about 4500k 5000k rpms to where it seems like it just bogs out and hits a brick wall. Also, when i press the gas on nutral, the rpms go to 5k then bounce back and go back up. ALso, sometimes after steping into it, the car idles like it had some heavy as cams in it and then it clears up.

The car drives normal and good, just when i get on the gas, it bogs out. ANY IDEAS?

 

does the throttle bounce around on its own??? it could be the TPS. had to have mine replaced and it was doing this exact same thing

 

how did you blow it up?

 

my car is still idlin' funny and when i come to a stop the RPM's shoot up when i push the clutch in, so you may not want my advice....but i would deff. say that you could check for boost/vacuum leaks for sure, maybe your TPS, and for sure check to see if it is throwin a code. other than that, you'll have to wait on the experts to wake up to ask them

im still only holding around 12 in 3rd....so not that bad. well i say 12, u no my gauge is broke and it reads 10 so i figure between 11-13...but i can hear the leak, even though it sounds real good, still bothers me. and why does everyone else with a CAI when they let off the throttle in their car you can hear the turbo spinnin down? i want that sh*t!!! u can hear mine a little, but im hopin if i can fix this leak that should take care of it huh?

 

that was steve anderson. that car had over 500hp and was one of the first big runners.
