you wouldnt want the dealer to do it even if they could!

 

Hey everyone I am new to the forum and I have a Black 03 with a custom sunroof. I bought the car with the roof allready install from the dealership. It's a power moon-roof with no leaks.

I grew up in a family that owned a dealership and my Dad always said it makes "absolutely no sense to cut a whole in a perfectly good roof". I've always believed he was correct about that. They will all leak, sooner or later just give it time, and the after market ones are worse than the factory one. Isay that based onmy 30 years of service experience.

 

Thanks--nice to be here. and also in my 30 plus years of building cars and bikes I have to agree--but it all depends on the build quality and the install.I was skepticalbefore i boughtthe carbut when I checked out the unit and the install I found it to be allgood. Besides it's a Webasto sunroof one of the best you can buy.

 

A what... Are they really that good? From what I hear, I wont even chance it unless they do some spectacular work.

 

It is a German company that make sunroofs for the manufactures and there not cheap they are something like$1,000 to $1,500buck. And you have to go online and find a authorize dealer.if you have the dough do and doit rightor I would just leaveit alone and spend you money on preformance.

 

ding ding .. also the firt 04's they made did not have sun roofs also...

 

See no roof... 03 baby.. only 16k on it also.

 

i cannot beleive i didnt know this...thats crazy! i s/r isnt that big of a deal to me but still its nice to have! im sorry guys
