Ok I've been thinking about this for a while. When I finally decided to buy a SRT-4, I couldn't get it in a sunroof so I had to get one without... obviously [>:]So I was thinking how about a custom sunroof. Has anyone ever tried to get one? Are they a good or bad idea?

 

ive NEVER heard anything good from an aftermarket sunroof. wait a minute...your srt doesnt have a sunroof? ive never seen a srt w/o s/r! that thing must have been special ordered or something w/o one. tell u what. if your car is in as good of shape or better than mine then ill trade you. i dont ever use mine neway...j/k, but i wouldnt put one in. every1 ive heard of leaks or something horrible comes from it! STAY AWAY!...just my opinion

 

YeaI agree bad idea! Its alot of work for not much benefitI think. What, more air? hot sun shining through? Plus theeventual leak that will most likely occur. Maybe not right away but years down the roadalmost a sure thing.Also structural issues if not done right! Now I know there arecompanies out there that do these things and I'm sure not everyone they do has problems but I would take that chance. Heck even some factory sunroofs leak! I do admit thought when i was looking for my srtI wanted a sunroof and the kicker system but the one I got didn't have either. [&o]But now after owning it for awhile I Don't miss either one!! Want to listen to some music, turn the radio down and step on the gas! Want more air roll the window down and, u know, step on the gas!!!

 

wow...i cant believe ya'lls cars dont have a sunroof. i thought that was a factory thing they all came with. let me ask this..i know my car battery has a heater around it. being up north, do yalls car have a switch on the inside to heat the battery with? i cant figure out what its there for cause i have nothing that it goes to....maybe its just an insulator...just curious...what other options is there for the srt? i know power windows in front, cd, anyone got cruise?

 

There's quite a few runnin around w/out sunroofs, & the thing around the battery is actually a battery temp. sensor for the PCM controlled charging system. .......& for the original poster; aftermarket sunroof's are almost always a problem........christ, even our factory ones have issues, but i really like my sunroof.

 

If you want many leaks and wind howl go ahead and buy an aftermarket.

 

Ahh well the last thing I want to do is have a leak in my car. I dont have the battery thing in my car either. Just a plain SRT-4 with no extras (even though they weren't many anyway). The kicker system was not powerful enough for me so I didn't care to much for it. I have a full Kenwood eXecelon system 1600 watt amp,and 2 12"/1200 watt subs. I can't even turn that thing too loud, I might break something. All I wanted was a sunroof. Oh well I guess I'll just... step on the gas more! I'm guessing that the dealership wont install one either?

Damn, I thought if the dealership would do it it would be good. Well I guess I'm out of luck on that part then.

 

All 03's do not have sunroofs
