what our skittle almost were
yall check this crazy stuff out. look at what dodge originaly wanted to do with our cars! http://www.motortrend.com/future/con...dodge_neon_srt
Holy crap that car would have been great... well kinda minus the supercharger. It also would have cost and arm + a leg. I glad they made the changes to the engine especially. I still like the momo, the amp was crazy, springs, shocks and all. I bet this car would have been more like $30,000 or so with all that stuff in it.
yeah i didnt care 2 much for the interior either, but the suspension was crazy good and i liked that front bumper, or at least what i could see of it, a little better than ours. wheels look like they would have been nicer too
man do yall realize that our skittles were almost the equivelant of a cobalt ss and neon r/t. im sooo glad that dodge didnt put this car out like that. they still wouldve been neat, but nowhere near as fast nor as cheap! they did it right if u ask me!
I remember that from back when it was debuted. You could say it's the first and only true SRT since it was simply called the Dodge SRT and it was the first use of the SRT name period. That's like when people bash the SRT-4's calling them just a Neon, but the Neon name was never used in the title even back in it's conception. The SRT-4 was and is a completely seperate model sharing very little with the Neons. The PT Cruisers use far more Neon parts than the SRT-4, but you don't hear anyone calling them Neons. I liked the original SRT on the outside, I prefer it's hood as it's scoop seems larger and more aggressive, but it's interior was hideous. Here's a few pics I have of that concept:

i must say that i do kinda like the way the concept looked over the way ours look from the factory. dodge deff. did the right thing by ditching that interior though. but i agree about the hood and i like the rear bumper as well. i stil wouldnt trade my skittle for one though!
