Have any of you ever had your car dyno'd with and without a fan?...... just wondering about the difference it would make.

When I say fan, I'm talking about the fan placed in front of the car while dyno'ing.... not the car's fan.

 

Running it without increases the risk of overheating, not something I would do.

 

I agree....I'm curious to what the effects are on the accuracy of the read-out.

 

all the dyno i have seen have a fan running...

 

don't waste your time / money without the fan... you gotta get rid of that heat!!! pop the hood... anything! lose the heat!

 

I got my car dyno'd and the fan broke after the first run... the first run showed 281whp and 312 torque.... the next run without showed 270whp and 300lbs of torque... the next run looked the same as the 2nd......so I'm guessing the fan was the determining factor between the differences in hp because it was the only variable that changed......

 

mine was dynoed without the fan running but it was about 40 degrees outside at the time and it was outside on a portable dyno...not sure why they didnt use the fan as they had on the couple muscle cars that hopped on it before me
