Has anyone had turbo probs??
[align=left]
So I used to have a stock srt-4 and around 20k i started having turbo probs.
At around 3 to 4k rpms it would loose boost. I was wondering if it was just my car
or if other people have had probs too????

if your boost gauge was not sitting at 0 at idle, your gauge was broke, but it was probably is as simple as a boost leak, or a problem with your wga. was it only boosting to about7lbs?if so that what the stock wga will do if its malfunctioning. also, did you use fully syntheitic changed every 3k, cuz the oil also cools the turbo which is subject to a lot of heat that breaks down oil rather quickly. a maintenence history would be most helpful, as well as how it was driven. but you say you 'used' to have the car, so at this point with no way to check things out for yourself, we can only say what it 'could' have been
i truly hope you didnt trade/sell your srt simply over this matter!

At first i thought it was a boost leak. So I did the test and after spraying the soapy water on the pipes, i did find a leak on the hot side of the IC. before this i was getting 5 lbs. of boost. now I can only get 7lbs. It peaks at 7 lbs and falls to 5. I really dont have any performance in 3rd gear any more. Just to see of I was going crazy me and a friends miata mx5 raced and I got beat. That should have never happened. I have a feeling that my gauge is busted as well. It rests at 5 vac.

busted gauge and a busted wga. we have a 7lb spring, so getting 7psi is a clear sign. either get an aftermarket one oryou can try to get it replaced under warranty. no real point in that. same thing with the boost gauge.

My car got wrecked around the time i started having probs with it.
And yes i only put synthetic in it every 3k, i babied that car.
When accelerating it would make an airy woosh sound and it had lack of boost.
But it wouldnt make those sounds if i wasnt accelerating.
The first time i took it to dodge, they said it was the boost gauge so they replaced it.
And nothing changed, i still had all the same probs.

Check the internal blowoff. If you have a mopar blowoff valve, it's right under. There's a pink wire, in fact it's a pressure hose sensor. It might of pop out. When it pops out, it sits close the battery or under your intake.
a massive boost leak or a bad turbo. remember when Hozay had a problem with his turbo? he coiuldn't hold ANY boost above a certain rpm.

yea but he couldn't make boost basically at all, much like saul too. he claims to be holding boost but it's falling off. it would be nice to get a little more information that just "it's dropping off" to work with.
yea, more info would be great. But as far as I can remember, hozay was holding boost until about 3 or 4,000 rpm's ... then it wouild fall to 0 psi. but it was obvious what his problem is. as soon as he looked at the fins on the turbo, they were mangled.
