Need alittle wideband info
Ok I have the modernperformance 3inch downpipe with acatalytic converter. I also have a stage 1 so the2nd o2 sensor isn't being read.I want to install a wideband but how will it be affected by being in the catalytic converter? Will it read ok or should I just play it safe and weld the bung in in front of the cat? I'm just looking to maybe save a little time and effort but if its not gonna read accurate then there's no point to it and ill have to weld the bung in! Also what kind of ratio numbers should I be getting its an AEM UEGO, Just wire it in and I'm set?
Also what the heck is lambda? and how important is that?

first things first. It shouldn't matter if the wideband sensor is in the CAT or not. Try it. Ziptie the 2nd O2 sensor to the chassis of the car and screw in the wideband O2 sensor in its place. See what kind of A/F you get. If its reading anything other than (around) 14.7 at idle, then weld in the sensor outside the cat. I dont thing you'll have that problem though.
Lambda is just the "formula" that the wideband uses to read the A/F's ... its not something that you "need" .. its the formula the computer uses to calculate everything. Dont worry about Lambda until you're a calculus major
lol
As for the AEM, just wire it in. Shouldn't take you that long to hook it up.

Just to let everyone know I installed the wideband yesterday and everything seems to be perfect.I got 14.7 at idle just like you said NYYDYNASTY thanks for the help!
Well It already had the 3" downpipe and 3"cat back exhaust when I bought the car so I can't give a good comparison from stock, But I really like the sound of it.I have heard some srt4s with sidepipes and mines nowhere near that loud (or funny sounding in my opinion). I live in a residential neighborhood and sometimes get home late still I have not got any complaints, however If you really crack it open It can be heard from a few blocks away. Inside I wouldnt call it obnoxiously loud either you can still definitely hold conversations with people in the back seat. Id definitely recommend it! If you find its too loud you can always add a muffler but I see no plans for that in my future!
