Default Exhuast Question

when buying an exhuast should i be considering with a cat or without. or maybe a high flow cat? what would be the pros and cons of having a cat or not having a cat. im sure there would be a sound difference yes, but i just am wondering if its better to run with or without one when buying an aftermarket exhaust set up.

it doesnt matter. Here, in NY, we can pass inspection without the cat's...i'm not sure about Mass. The major benefit of running catless, is that fact that you can run leaded fuel at the track. Otherwise, there's no reason to take it out. Yes, the exhaust flows a bit better without it, but for street driving, it wont matter that much.

or take a cat and have a good muffler shop weld a 3 inch pipe right through the bastard. be sure to get some kind of muffler tho, so it won't be so snappy
