All right.Horsepower freak?Cool. Torque gets you going, Horse Power keeps u goin'. But as we can seeit's not the issue with SRT4. But we all want to squeeze some extra HP & TQ out of our engines, & the more the better ,especially when it comes to 'race'. 'Forced Induction is thegoodway to go fast, if not the only way. As we all know that the denser theairin the combustionchamber we get, the morefuel will be burned thegreater power output will be. That's why porting exhaustrunnersin the head as it was recommended aboveisn't a best way to gain power. Why? 'cause once exhaust valverunners get larger the hotter the head will be. hence all the air that will pass through the head(intake valve runners) will get hotter, density will becomethinnerresultingreduced performanceand may lead to knock because expanded air will add extra psiin the combustion chamber or fuel mixtures will ignite sooner due to the heated air, & there will be ignition retard in response to knock sensor signals which will also affect power output. The same storywith 'boost' the more boost there being compressed the hotter the airwill become since the turbo and compressortemperaturesrise, detonation etc. Therefore rightintercooling should beconsidered as an important issue. Moststock intercoolers are inefficient. But theres a lot to say about intercoolers so I won't since the space of this forum is restricted, I'll just add that intercoolers with acute bended piping should be avoided'cause they seriously affect flow. Ok 'wastegates'and 'actuators'... most stock wastegates begin to open at 50-65% boost. This leads to more turbo lag especialy on higher gears unlessfactory enginemanagment system is set to prevent that but i think thenthere shouldbe some different more expensive type of wastegate. That's why i would recommend to getexternal one which would allow to tweak that habit out of it.The best spot for the actuatorto sense boost pressure is somewhere after intercooler or before TB. And of course a good BOV is alsoconvenient. But threre's of course a lot more involved inpoweroutput gains and performance achievementthan what said above, but it's too much to post.

To bad I don't have SRT4 to do all that but i hope i'll get one soon.

Sorry,

Performance Vehicle Operations...PVO...the "brains" behind the SRT series....SRT-4, SRT-6(?), SRT-8(?), SRT-10...kinda like being in the Bill Gates' division of Dodge...

Do you run water injection in your600HP SRT4 to prevent detonation? Or what do u use?'Cause 9.2:1 compression ration and 22psi of boost seems a little bit too much. Though Im not saying that it's impossible, it's possible, but... then thedetonation is more than possiblein that case ,and no knock sensor will help anymore at those compression, and boostlevels that u claim to be set on your SRT4. And can you tell me the name of that fuel with 108 octane level?that usaid u ran in your SRT, and was its octane level messured in RON,MON, or PON? most of those highoctanefuelsare leaded therefore u cant run them in your car unless u take CAT off. if you won't your CAT will rest in peaceafter few runs which will terribly decrease HP output. And i think u saidthat u still run CAT in yourSRT.

Ok i will back down an answer a few guestions. No i do not use a water injection set up. I used one in an older blown dodge v-8 set up and had nothing but problems with it so i'm staying away. I have a good intercooler chiller and i run the fuel line thru a cool can that i pack with dry ice and this is working fine, but it hasent ben tested in the dog days of summer down here yet. So that may change. I've tried two or three diffrent types of race fuel and settled on CSP by VP fuels. It has a motor octane of 96.6 and a research octane of 107.9 and is yellow in color and is an oxygenated fuel and have not harmed the converter at all since this is an unleaded fuel. I tried everyone's favorite Vp performance gas but got detonation at anything over 19 psi of boost. I drive this car like everybody else on the street, at or around the speed limit i don't use race gas unless im at the track or hunting for some street actionon a weekend. Though i have never wasted my time doing it, on super pump gas with out the chiller or ice or nitrous, 15-17 psi boosti'm guessing around 340 plus or minus whp and this is more than enough to smoke a lot of cars off the road. When i need the extra hp i got it.
