I haven't looked at it but now that you mention it your right it is thin so I can just get another 90 degree angle piece for it.Doesn't samco make a bunch of them that I could just replace that piece with?

more info onreplacing the elbow. im not experineced in fabricating my own parts, i just buy them.
and you can pick up a used mopar intake. i am STILL kicking myself for turning one down for 200 bucks last year (although i dont think it came with a filter). but that was almost what i paid for my k&N... damn

no you're not kicking yourself for passing up the mopar cai. it's the biggest pos pain in the *** intake i have ever seen or attempted to install. i wanted to throw the thing into traffic.

i have the JMB intake. it's my second intake, had it about two years now. fits perfect.

I happen to like the K&N and I only paid 150 brand new so I am not complaining about it.

you will when the elbow colapses and kills your power. replace the elbow or the intake. it's a known problem.
