Default OBD light

hey fellow srt-owners!

ive been away at school and just got home for spring break. not gonna lie but eyes watered up when i got home and saw my skittle chillin in the driveway.

i have a little problem. i turned on my car today and saw the OBD light turn on and stay on. i read thru the manual and was a bit unsure as to what it could be. i know that it can be triggered by a dead battery. my dad told me that last week he went to turn it on and it wouldnt start (loose battery cable). last time before that was about 3 weeks ago. im guessin it has to do with the battery but i trust the people here more than anyone else. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Using a battery charger would be cheaper than burning a couple of gallons of premium.........

i haven't checked to see if its throwin a code. does the car automatically tell me or do i need to do somethin with the ignition and key? i read on here a while back someone turned the key in the ignition to on 3 times or somethin like that. all cables are tightened so im jus goin to drive it around for a bit. how long should i drive it around waitin for the light to go off before i take it in? thanks for all the advice so far. i knew i could count on u guys (and girls)!!!!

don't take it in unless you need to. if the engine light is on that means that you've thrown a code. turn the key to the "on" position three times while holding down the key lock without actually turning on the car. the code will pop up on your odometer. let us know what it is and we'll take it from there.

P0573-BRAKE SWITCH #1 CIRCUIT HIGH

before you go running to the dealer reset the ecu and see if the code comes back. it might have just been a ecu brain fart from sitting so long.
