Default Parts ?

I was looking at buying some parts for my car. To make the front look completely clear what do you all need. The Euro clear lenses, and the Titanium bulbs. The titanium bulbs light up yellow when your turn the blinkers on right and the clear sidemarker will come with a yellow bulb so that will light up yellow to. This is all from modern performances Also I was looking into that new shifter **** on modern performance. Is this all chrome or what kinda finish is this. Also is it easy to install and how do you install it, also how do you install the clear markers, are they an easy pop off or do you have to take stuff out of the engine compartment to change them out. Thanks for any help.

I hope you have some cash to set aside for the attention you'll receive from the police. Clear side markers are of little concern to local authorities, but the state police are likely to zap you on them, especially at night.

If you use your turn signals (you're in a no-win situation here) and a cop is facing you, he/she is going to cite you for a lighting/marker violation. If you don't use your signals and a cop is facing you, he/she may well cite you for failure to use a signaling device.

To add insult to injury, if you are ever in an accident (and we ALL will be), and the cops or the insurance companies notice the illegal lights, you'll be visiting your lawyer a lot. Hopefully nobody in the other car will be killed or injured.

BTW, I get asked this question a lot........."What's the best way to avoid traffic tickets?"

Answer: Don't do anything to attract attention to yourself.

Technically, according to Federal law, you have to have amber side markers on your vehicle. If you drive with your lights on all the time, and have an amber bulb, you shouldn't have a problem. I've said this before, but I've never written a citation for a marker light violation.

Anything other than amber turn signals are going to get unwelcome attention. If not from a marked partrol unit, then from perhaps an undercover unit or an off-duty officer.
If you want to look like a "gang-banger"/"gangster", expect to receive the attention you seek. If all you want is to mod your car for performance and you drive reasonably, you should be OK. Cops like to mod cars, too!!

I thought the shift **** was high but I really like it. It has a set screw collar that locks down on the shaft then rotate the **** down on it. You will have to adjust the collar a few times to get the shift pattern to line up. It's not really chrome but polished metal. More sturdy feeling shifts from the weighted ball.

dusty, i think you misunderstood the parts.

the clear side markers come with amber bulbs, so at night they do shine an amber color. now if he was to use the same clear ones that are there stock, then there would be an issue. the turn signal bulbs are titanium colored, but also will light up an amber color. the purpose of these bulbs is to get rid of that nasty orange color on the front, but still remain legal when you turn them on. these lighting mods make the car look a lot better durring the day and for shows, but are still legal as you keep the amber lighting. it was always my understanding that as long as the bulbs light up the correct color, it didn't matter what they looked like off. if this is incorrect, please let me know as i'm running the titanium turn signals and clear corners w/amber lights as well, and i've never had a problem, and i've had them in since last september. i don't want a ticket if i can help it

Let me quote from my "Bible", The Texas Criminal Law and Motor Vehicle Handbook, page 515 on the turn signal issue..."(d) (1) A turn signal lamp shall emit: a white or amber light, or a color between white and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the front of the vehicle; or, (2) a red or amber light or a color between red and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. I stand corrected on the signal color (see why I don't write tickets for lights?!)

Now here's what's interesting....Section 547.332 says "A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two side cowl or fender lamps that emit an amber OR WHITE LIGHT WITHOUT GLARE." (My capitalization)

It would appear that clear side markers are OK in Texas, but I'd check your state laws before taking this as gospel everywhere.

You'll get pulled over in Texas for that, too. Happens all the time, especially in the little "bedroom communities" around the larger cities.....in addition, if your license plate frame covers ANY part of the letters on the plate (including the state name) you'll be a couple of hundred dollars lighter in the wallet....
