Default I think My SRT was dumping out oil

I think my car was dumping out oil. I was out driving today, in town, and I noticed my car was running hotter than normal, which is a little below 200, but now it was about oh 1/2 a cenimeter or so above 200, which I have never seen. I was ont driving it hard either, or so I thought, I did rev it a little at my friends but not real high just enough to get a crackle from the exhuast. Nothing big, and then we were going out to eat, so I just let it sit there for about 2 minutes or so running like the manual says if you run it hard, and then I shut it off to go into the place, and I notice a liquid like flowing out from the botom of the car, like major liquid, and it was on an angle so it was rolling out and there was no car above mine so I figure it was mine. And no I did not have the air conditioner on at all lately. I have noticed this before, like right after I get a oil change I get some leakage in the garage, nothing this big. Is it possible that it was built up on a piece and the hot engine temp caused it to heat up and it rolled off when I was parked on the angle. It was parked so the passanger side was on the bottom of the angle. I hope they just overfilled it or something, last oil change was ah about a month ago.

Do you have an oil catch can? Was the oil coming off the cold side hose of the intercooler? I had oil also. I noticed it was on the cold side pipe of the intercooler. I wiped it clean and tightend the hose clamp. I then installed a homemade occ and I had no leaks after that.

Yeah, I'd check that for sure, since one of the main reasons for an OCC is to keep oil out of the intercooler...

See, I'm not much of a mechanic, and I have tried talking to people to put one on but they have never even heard of one. Are these easy to install. I have never took a Auto shop class, only woods and a short basic welding class. I would really like to add one if it is a easy thing for me to do. And I didn't get a chance to even look at where it was coming out, I didn't want my friends making fun of my Dodge becasue they already do and I hate it. So I just saw it and acted like it didn't happen so they wouldn't give me $hit. If it does happen again I will be sure to look. I took a quick glance and it looked more like the back part of the engine in the middle but like I said it was on a slant so I could not really tell. I'm praying I can keep this car because if it does anything else my dad will make me say bye bye. that would make me cry I love the thing, my dad hates it and I had a hard time getting him to buy it in the first place.

Dude, go to srt.forums.com and use the search feature to get a full-color layout of how to do the "$20 Oil Catch Can". There are many postings here on DF as well, with detailed info....hopefully, that will fix your problem. If not, let us know!!!!

Alright, and this can be picked up at Napa or auto value or something. Also this won't void any warranty either right, because I have to assure my dad because he is paranoid.

NO, it won't. You are actually doing a good thing by adding a catch can. Honestly I don't remember all the part numbers. If you go to srtforums.com they will definately have the info. If you are real unsure I can take some pics of mine tomorrow and give you a quick write up and what to look for.

Like byebye said, it won't void your warranty and the techs at my dealership put them on their cars!!!

You can get the parts at Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Wal-Mart, or even off the internet. It's TLC for your SRT-4!!!!

I think I will have to take my car to the SRT dealer down in the twin cities, maybe they will do that and a BOV for me or something, if I get my problem corrected, I will prob hold off on the catch can untill I know that my car will be alright as far as the fuse issue, I'm going to have to call in and see if I can get it wired back to normal, my dad said he wants to leave the car as is for a while untill they get it fixed. Maybe I can talk him into this mod tho. I'll talk to him more, I seen the how to on SRTforums.com and it looks perty simple, I still dont understand, do you actually have to cut hoses. Do you cut the hose off a bit than add a catch can in between this hose. I still am not clear as to what hose it is. It looks fairly simple. So this hose that it is connected to, what does it actually do. There won;t be oil dripping all over if you take it off. I'll talk to my dad about it tommorow because he is busy tonight. If I need help I know where to come. Thanks guys.
