anyone here beat an ls1 camaro

 

Yes i have beat a many of LS1's my bro has an 02 Camaro SS and i waxed him really badly. But I have a stage 3 kit and he is stock. I beat a friend who has a Trans Am LS1 and I beat him by a solid 5 cars from 40-120 he wanted to race from a roll I didn't mind. But when I was stock I beat him by about 1 car and his bro has a GTO LS1 or the 5.7 and o also beat him by 1-2 cars. Remember that is when I was stock

 

while stock I beat a 5.7 gto reaaaaaaaally bad.And at the track I beat an SS too(street tires), but at that time I had a wastegate and exhaust, not much but enough to leave him behind, especially since he was talking crap about my car with his g/f and buddies

 

Yes, but the guy was an idiot. He ran 15 flat in his 01 SS to my 14.3 in stock trim. He took the first exit back to the pits.

 

Guess the LS1 - Camero / TA is not what it should be either that or the people raceing u had no idea how to drive their car. There is no way a stock SRT-4 could beat an LS1 stock vs stock. My LS1 Vette (stock minus exaust) Smokes SRT-4's stock and up to stage 2---> (not quite a smoke - must have good take off and shifting). Stage 3 no way theyare rediculous Fast -if there is a such thing hehe-Yes the SRT-4 is Fast stock, Thats y i have one for my 2nd ride but there is no way it should beat an LS1 Stock Vs Stock. Then again the Camero / TA's do have alot of weight. I used to run an 95LT1 TA and it was sick fast bone stock ........ not as fast as my Vette but it was faster than my SRT-4.

I have beaten a couple of the camaro's but also lost to vettes and the LT1 is no way faster than the SRT4. When I have raced the older ones like the LT1 I beat them stock. I have lost to some but they have some sort of modds. Any stock one that I have raced I have beat and I know that everyone drives different so no matter what you race it is a drivers race if you can drive good. obviuosly the srt4 isn't the fastest car but camaro LT1's are really that fast stock either.

 

Most of the time it really depends on the driver and also when you race on highways and stuff it is different than the track. Just because someone has a better 1/4 time than you does not mean that you can not beat them on the street.

 

If a stock SRT-4 wins out over ANY stock LS1 car, they beat the driver, not the car. End of story. Stage 2 and up cars, yeah, I can see that happening. But I've beaten a stock SRT-4 in my 350Z, which is stock. And between those two, it is a total driver's race. I have also raced a Stage 3 SRT4. From a dig to 50 (traffic held us up) I won. From a20roll to 80, we waxed my ***.

 

lmfao....scg87 are you on crack or something!!?I beat a stock 350Z and a G35 while boosting 10psi, I was spiking like 18 but it would come down very fast to 10(boost leak)Theres a thread in here somewhere about it.Now Racevette....I raced an SS at the track.He ran a 14.3 and I ran a 13.5.All I had was exhaust and intake on not so stock boost...15psi.The SShad exhaust andintake...maybe somehting else...not sure.Maybe it was the driver, who knows

 

A stock LS1, manual transpowered Camaro/Firebird/Trans-Am runs a 1/4 mile best of 13.5.An SRT-4 Neon runs a best of roughly 13.9/14.1

It's a driver's race.....however...put the same driver in both cars and the LS1 wins everytime......

Also, an auto LS1/LS2 is a pig, especially in the F-Body and GTO cars.....so because you spanked one....do not think you can beat all of them.
