Default 3rd gear!

First off hello everyone, I have been reading and learning alot about my srt-4 on this site. Everyone seems nice and knows alot about these amazing cars. I am learning alot every day and trying to find out the best route for my new srt-4. If anyone can tell me what turbo is best out of the agp hp61 or hp66, turbonetics 60 series or the T04b, T04e, or the hahn 20g????
Also I am getting my but beatby weak cars and they all seem to pull on me in 3rd gear! I get a big 5 to 6 car jump on them and they seem to catch me hard in 3rd. Is that something that all stock srts have a problem with??? Or am I not shifting at the potential rpm! Please give me some input thx!

you named a bunch of VERY different turbos, all designed to meet different goals and be utilized in different ways. which one is best depends on what your goals are for the car.

as for the 3rd gear issue, 3rd gear is probably our strongest gear, no way you should be loosing it in that gear. have you checked for boost leaks? what psi are you holding? what are your mods?

Well I just got the car a few months ago so its a shame but its stock! I have money and taste just need to learn more about the car before I mess anything up! I have a basic idea of what I want to buy but the biggest issue is the turbocharger! I want to be able to meet 400 to 600 horsepower which turbo would be best for the best price? Some tell me Turbonetics and some say AGP others even say go with the mopar stage 3 I just dont know who to believe! lol
I am just stock and when I run I hit hard in first and secondrunning 15lbs on everyone even camaro ss. Then when when I hit third I dont seem to be spooling or running as hard or something it is hard to explain. But I have driven it around and tested it out and it seems to be fine. My boost in third gear peaks at 15 drops to about 12 then as I get to higher rpms it gets up to 15 again! Let me know what you think! Also tell me what you know I absolutely need for my car (maybe electrical)as in first upgraded parts! I am thinking about the stage one mopar and upgrading the turbo along with many other bolt ons!

lol 600 hp isn't anywhere near enough to go pro. the n2mb car is going pro this year and their goal is 900hp and a mid-low 9......

so 400-600hp....let's make it easier and say 500hp or so. s3 is out, not big enough to support that kind of power. a hp61, 66, or the turbonetics 60 are going to be your best bet. the 60-1 is a great turbo that has shown itself to be reliable, have decent spool characteristics and make good power with the proper supporting mods. that would be a good choice, but any of the larger ones you listed will do the trick. the hp66 might be a little too large unless you have a built motor and higher rev limit to fully utilize it, but if you do it's great.

as for the 3rd gear issue, check your wga sounds like it might have a problem and do a boost leak test.

I think I will go with the agp61 the 66 is a little much and I might have troubles installing it due to the firewall! I will definitly be upgrading my wga to the agp stage 3, and have other modifications that I have in mind, bigger fmic, intake, apexi boost controller, 750cc ingectors, engine mounts, bigger fuel pump, catch can, spark plugs, aem wideband, (any other input on any good fuel computers?), turbo timer, blow off valve hks ss, mpx turbo back exhaust system, ect ect. I need help with other mods is there anything else I absolutly need or I will blow up my car! I want to make sure Iwill berunning properly before I start installing stuff!

the agp s3 wga is designed to work only with the mopar s3 turbo. the s3 turbo sits in a slightly different location than the stocker so a shorter arm is needed. the regular agp will work just fine, upgrade the spring if you want though.

as for fuel control, you might be better off with the turbo xs dtec fcbc. that way you can do two things at once, control fuel and boost. it also has a nice boost/fuel reference and makes tuning a bit easier. the aem uego is a nice wideband for this set up as well, as it can connect directly into the dtec with a wire.

the only other thing i would suggest would be a return line and probably the bottle neck fix. with your goals those would be very helpful.
