Hello there I have a 2005 SRT-4. Well my boost level used to go to about 16psi now it is running about 8-11psi. Also my engine light comes on flashing and the car seems like it is going to die. If i push on the pedel it makes a clunking noise agian like it wants to turn of or die. The only thing on the car is a turbo timer and blow off valve. Does anyone have any ideal what could be wrong. Hope someone can help.

 

well, it sounds like the motor is 'choking'
what for turbo timer do you have? where is your boost set at? did you hold or spike 16psi and was that on your new timer & BOV? how many miles do you have? are your plugs and wires in good shape? when exactly does it want to die out, it may be a tps issue? at how many RPMs is it wanting to die and under what conditions?... if you want a good answer you need to give up as much info as possible.

you can read your check engine light as well. turn your ignition on and off 3 times, then leave it on on the third time... it will display a 'P' code (see sticky). this would be most helpful
changes in weather can affect how much boost you make. like when it gets colder out, the air becomes more dense and less is needed (more oxygen means more fuel is needed) so you 'max' your car's system at a lower boost level)

 

its apexi turbo timer. The boost is set at the stock like when i bought it. It would hit 16 then slowly go down but now it only goes to 10 and then go down slowly. Also the timer and BOV have been on the car for over a year now. I have little over 13,000. Plugs and wires should still be good. Just got a tuning about 1 month ago. When I turned the car on and drive it for about 5 mins it wanted to turn off but then it started to run fine except for the boost. Well I will try to turn it on and off to see if I get a code and let you know. Hope you can help. Thanks

 

if its just boost issue, then check for boost leaks (see boostleak detector). that much of a sudden drop in psi sounds like perhaps a line becam disconnected. check the hot/coldside pipes, your vac lines and be sure to check the line that actually connects to the turbo. this may be your boost (or lack thereof) problem. also, do you have a wideband? im curious to know what your a/f might be... asrunning lean can cause some serious damage

 

ok well I will check the lines and see. Also I do not have a windband but the apexi does have a a/f reader on it but i do not know how to hook it up to which wire it needs to be hook up to. so I dont know if it is running lean. Also I am in Germany in the military and the dodge here do not sell srt-4 so I dont know how well the are with looking at the turbo. Also I went out to turn off and on the car and I didnt see any codes. Where would it show up at.

 

im sorry, it displays on your odometer... do a search as i may be telling you wrong on how to do it, its been a minute since i threw any codes.
and the delaers here in the states barely know **** about the SRT4... best of luck in germany
