Even that Pontiac G8 is packing quite a punch for power. Putting the new challenger in its place!!

Ill been stuck to my dream viperever sincei was 15 years old

04 Dodge Viper 800TT hennessey venom - $180k car Not street legal tho.
Huh!?!.... I think you're talking about the old base 340 hp v-8 Hemiautomatic Charger. It's not real fast. There was a magazine comparo of those two and yeah, the G-8 looked better. The Challenger is not even out yet and the G-8 does not and will not becompared to it. The Challenger is a two door coupe. All of the 1st year Challengers will be a 425hpSRT-8 version. The second year will be able to be had with different v-6 and v-8 options as well as choices of manual or auto transmissions. The base v-8 Hemi in the Challenger in year two will have around 380 hp as well. I want the second year Challenger......bad.

Dont even try to compare a G-8 to my beloved Challenger!

Why cant he? The Pontiac G8 is a legitimate threat to the LX bodies and the Challenger on the track....

GT V8 model - 361hp/385ftlbs - 6spd Auto (6spd Manual due out in 09) - 0-60 in 5.3 seconds
GXP V8 model - 402hp/400ftlbs - 6spd Manual Tremec 6060 - 0-60 in 4.7 seconds (faster then an SRT-8 Charger)

They're using the LS3 (New Corvette Engine) for the GXP model, and it's not a slouch at all...

Granted I dont see the comparison because one is a coupe the other is a sedan.....however, this is essentially the same setup that will be used on the new Camaro in late 09......so expect to see those numbers some more....altho the Camaro Z28 will have in excess of 450hp.

it would seem so. looks like youll need some good upgrades to keep up. i think now mine is going to remain in its near-stock condition for good. just want to pay it off instead of spending extra $$ under the hood. dont get me wrong, playing with a car is great but my priorities have somewhat changed and tis time to start thinking long term.
