help boost leak?
the car wont go past 12psi, I just put a new 60 trim in, my bov is 2 weeks old. According to a friend of mine which is an auto "engineer" my previous 50 trim turbo was the prob and had bad bearing seals etc. to make it short i just got the new turbo put in and i cant go past 12,13 pnds of boost and it doesnt pull like it should, also the hks bov doesnt sound like a supersequential anymore and its not as loud, it just sounds so low i can barely hear it, like a stock bov.
I think its a boost leak, theres no other explanation about the bov other than a boost leak and the fact i cant get past 13psi at max rpm's
anybody care to chime in

man i hope its a leak, idk where else to go to pinpoint this problem i tryed to do a boost leak test myself, but i guess i need someones help to go under the car and check all the clamps and joints, i used an air compressor, made a home depot leak tester with a tire valveand all, but didnt heard any leaks

how do i ck the wastegate to make sure isnt loose? thats the only thing i left off, but then again i disc before, thinkin it could be the wastegate, to let the turbo run full boost and that didnt work. Ihave the turbonetics external w/g
anu idea?

so u think that s my cockpit? how i fix that? i thought if i disconected the hose going to it from the turbo that i would run turbo full boost, and that way i will know it was the wastegate, i tried that and boost remained the same, or thats not true?

wow not a good idea.....keep all your lines attached where they should be. most after market wga's for big turboscome with a 12psi spring, which is why it sounds like it's your wga if you can't boost past 12psi. remove the wga and check the diaphram for tears and the arm for excessive movement.

thanks, someone else told me it could be the boost controller, i have the greddy spec II , but i dont think is the b/c.
i think its the wga like you said ..its the turbonetics evo wga fixable i would rather do that other than buying another one, there prices are kinda steep

i feel is the wga stuck open, i tried to unbolt it to ck it out, but broke one of the 2 bolts holding it, and the other bolt is even harder to loosen off i am just taking it to a shop so they can test the wga..any ideas?

you have an evo wga on your car? that could be the problem right there. also, when you installed it did you cut the heatshield to allow for arm movement? if not it might not be allowing the wga to completly open.
