Hi Guys, hope you don't mind me gate crashing your party from the wrong side of the Atlantic!
I'm Gareth and i own a 1997 Chrysler Grand Voyager [Dodge Caravan to you i belive] I live in the Snowdonia National Park which is in North Wales. I have my wife, Helen, and 2 kids. We run the Voyager as its a great car for pulling our caravan [trailer] and we love being able to take friends and family out with us.
The car is a 3.3V6, only the 3.3 was available at first in the UK [the Deisel came next in 1999 i think], its got the 4 speed automatic transmission, again this was the only option when they first came on sale here.
We've also had it to run on LPG [liquified petrolium gas] this less than half the price of petrol [gas] in the UK. Petrol is almost £1.00 per litre, thats about $2.00 [$9.00 a gallon!!!!]
The conversion cost about £2,000 but we will recoup that in a year and be into proffit!!
We get about 21mpg which reading on this forum seems about OK, we do a mix of highway and urban driving. Our speed limit over here is 60mph 'A' roads [highway] and 70mph on Motorway [freeway] so higher than your 55mph, or is that just a myth??
I'm hoping to find info on this forum as i do my own repairs etc, can anyone point me in the direction of a workshop manual PDF?
So long for now
Gareth
