Hi from central Illinois
I just became a Dodge owner (wellI have owned Chrysler products in the past but not recently) whenI purchased my 2007 Dodge Dakota. My new Dakota is replacing a 1999 Ford Ranger which served my very well for over 150,000 miles with no problems outside of normal maintenance. So why did I abandon Ford and come to Dodge? Two reasons: 1) Ford is dropping the Ranger line after 2008 and 2) Dodges lifetime powertrain warranty. I only hope the Dakota serves me as well as the Ranger and thatI never need the warranty!
I am looking forward to the wealth of information this forum and web site has to offer for a new owner!

The new truck is mineral gray metallic with a gray cloth interior. I have a Leer cab high topper in mineral gray metallic on order (should be in next week!).I use my truck primarily to canoe, fish and camp from. I have constructed cabinets in the bed and behind the seat for essentials like fishing gear canoe gear and, of course, my in cab coffee pot!
