New Dodge Ram 1500 Owner
Just became a first time Dodge owner and more importantly a Dodge Ram 1500 owner. Previous cars were a 1994 Nissan Altima and 2000 Chevy Blazer. Decided to depart from Chevy and try the Dodge (will never buy a Ford). A close second in purchase choice was the Tundra.... but glad the Ram won out! Enjoy the "mean" look of them as well as the ride. Have already taken a long trip from Tulsa to Houston and back.
Only second gusessing was getting the 3.7l vs. the 4.8l. Not going to be hauling heavy loads so opted for the 3.7l and gas $$$. Would like to hear back from those seasoned Ram owners on the true fuel consumption and cost difference between the two engine models.
Also purchased a locking fuel cap from wally-world but i am getting a check engine light now. No matter how much torque i put on the cap it will not seal properly and hence I am getting light. Switched back to the OEM cap and problem solved. Can anyone direct me to a locking fuel cap provider that has a good performance record? I know my fault for going cheap.... ha!
Other then that I love my RAM! Got many add-on ideas for the truck, now if only my wallet was as big!

Thank you for the welcomes! I have really enjoyed reading over all of the different posts this forum has to offer. I have found a copy of the 2006 service manual and find it a very interesting read. Also they forum has already solved one of my problems... locking fuel caps for the Ram 1500s.
