Default New guy says Hi

Hello everyone,I'm a newbie to the forum,My name is Keith and i live in WV,I have a 1996 Dakota Sport 4x4 with a 5.2 V8 Magnum,The truck has 139,000 miles on it and used to belong to my Brother he left it to me when he passed away in september,i must admit i haven't owned a Dodge since 1987.I found the Forum because i am trying to figure out a check engine light,it has 2 codes p0300 & p0304.i looked at the dist cap (no moisture or cracks)i inspected the wires(look fairly new and good shape)i pulled 2 plugs # 2 &# 4 cyl(look new also Champions # 4071)Any ideas anyone? Thanks

0300 is random/multiple.
0304 is cylinder 4.
i would recomend doing a distributor cap, rotor, a decent set of middle grade(8mm) wires, and a set of standard copper core Champion spark plugs. i would also pick up a Berryman's 3-Step fuel system cleaner. AdvanceDiscount Auto has them follow the directions to the T. these two main points are a good place to start. total cost shouldnt be more than $115($20-plugs, $50 wires, $10 rotor, $15 cap, $20 Berryman's)and it would take about two hours.
Now, i can garuntee the truck WILL run better in doing these, but without testing the truck myslef, i cant garuntee it will fix it. past these two things, the vehicle would need to be diagnosed at a shop.
good luck and keep us posted!
