i have an 05 dakota ext cab 2wd 3.7 66k miles. trans shudders between 30 and 50. been to 2 dealers 2x's each, called dodge 4times, nothing fixed. told to push tow haul button when inthat speed range. all maintence done as per the manual by local mechanic. 7 /70 warranty should repair it but it means nothing. cant imagine anyone believing a lifetime warranty will be any better!!!!

 

Welcome to Df, Sorry you are having trouble with the Dakota. Maybe it will work out for you....

 

My suggestion is to call the head of Chrysler and raise hell!!! I had the same problem with my 94 Dakota some years ago. It had 69,500 mi on it when I took it in and I had the 70,000mi coverage and I was told the same thing (to turn off the overdrive). Are they test driving it and telling you it is not doing it for them? Ifd so it is because usually they take it about a mile or two down the road. After the third time I had it there they siad nothing was wrong it had 70,100Mi on it. And I told them "you ride, I'll drive and show you" and I did. Then they said there was a problem. And lucky for me the warranty ran out on it 100 miles ago. I DONT THINK SO!!!! I called Chrysler and raised a whole lot of hell. The next week my whole transmission was replaced (completely)! And there was no charge!!!! Try it it just might work!!! Good Luck!!!

if it's under warranty, keep taking it back until it's fixed. do not close out the claim until your satisfied.
